LATEST: Anambra Born Gabe Okoye Wins US Election.

Gabe Okoye, an Anambra native, has been elected to the George State House of Representatives, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

In a Facebook post, he acknowledged his victory. Okoye also requested heavenly guidance in order to meet expectations.

“A very special thank you to the voters of HD – 102 for electing me to represent you at the Capitol. I hope to make you proud. Please pray for wisdom for me.”

“I also thank all my campaign workers. Through the grace of God all your hard work has paid off. Having given all glory to God, my sleeves are rolled up, and I am ready to go to work for you.”

Okoye is a Democrat from Enugwu-Aguleri, Anambra. He served as a Planning Commissioner in Gwinnett County, Georgia’s second-most populous local government, and is the county’s first black commissioner in its 202-year existence.

The civil engineer and founder of the Georgia-based construction firm Essex Geoscience also serves on the Executive Committee Board of the Gwinnett and state Democratic Party chapters.
