Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has blamed politicians for the continuing detention of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
According to Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele’s Media Aide, these politicians should remove their support for Kanu’s continuing detention.
He also cautioned President Muhammadu Buhari that Kanu’s extended detention will make the Southeast more volatile.

He stated that politicians who support Kanu’s ongoing detention should resign in order for justice to prevail.
Kanu’s continuing detention, according to the cleric, will pose a significant crisis in the 2023 general election.
He said: “The more Nnamdi Kanu stays in prison, the more volatile the southeast zone becomes.
“If they want peace in the zone, politicians behind his travails should withdraw.
“The government should stop locking him behind bars. If he is guilty, let him be sentenced; if he is not, let him be set free, that’s the criteria for peace.’’
Kanu had been imprisoned since his arrest in Kenya in June of last year. He was returned to Nigeria after his arrest.
