Air Peace, a Nigerian carrier, has ceased flights to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, due to the non-issuance of visas to Nigerians.
Emirates Airlines had already suspended its flights, claiming an inability to repatriate ticket payments as well as fewer passengers on the route.
Air Peace, Nigeria’s indigenous carrier, has announced that it will cease operations on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, ‘until further notice.’
Emirates Suspends Flights To Nigeria Starting From September
In a statement, the Airline said, “This is consequent upon the persisting non-issuance of visas to Nigerian travelers by the government of the United Arab Emirates and the accompanying inconveniences.
“Air Peace has been operating into the UAE even with the country’s recent travel restrictions, but given the heightening hurdles Nigerian travellers are facing in accessing the country, it has become imperative that we halt our operations to that destination. We shall provide further updates as the situation progresses.
“Passengers whose flights are affected by this development can mail our Call Centre to attend to their concerns.”
Several weeks ago, news outlets claimed that the UAE authorities had imposed a visa restriction on Nigerians. While no justification was given for the suspension, the Dubai authorities declared that all applications were on hold until concerns between the UAE government and the Nigerian government were handled.

The United Arab Emirates Immigration authorities declared a visa restriction on Nigerians, stating that all applications are being refused and costs are non-refundable.
