Gunmen assassinated two members of the Ebubeagu Security Outfit in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State.
According to ANAEDOONLINE.NG, the event occurred on Friday night at the famed Ebebe Junction.
The incident, which also resulted in numerous inhabitants of the region being injured to varied degrees, has produced palpable anxiety among the citizens, with some observed fleeing for safety.
SP Chris Anyanwu, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the development.
