Buhari stated that the triumph validates the Archbishop’s spiritual zeal, strong theological training, and commitment to ecumenical unity in Nigeria.

According to spokesman Femi Adesina, their last interaction was during his visit to Imo in September 2021.

The President praised Onuoha for his “unfailing devotion” to the country’s unity and prosperity, as well as his advice to people in positions of authority.
