In keeping with its guiding principle of appreciating and encouraging philanthropy and community development, Nnewi Sports Club will bestow its Prestigious Award of Excellence on Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, Senator representing Anambra South and candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) for the 2023 Anambra South Senatorial Election.
Speaking about the occasion, Nnewi Sports Club President Chief Ifeanyi Ezekaka stated that the award is intended to recognize Senator Ubah for his outstanding contributions to youth, sports, and community development, as well as to thank him for single-handedly constructing an ultramodern facility for the club, which is now the largest and best in South Eastern Nigeria.

Senator Ubah, according to Chief Ezekaka, is a significant value to Nnewi, Anambra, and Nigeria in general.
Speaking further on the Senator’s contributions to Nnewi community development, Chief Ezekaka stated that the Senator remains the town’s greatest employer of labor.
He also stated that, before to entering politics, the Senator had influenced the lives of nd Nnewi by constructing international facilities that employed youths and promoted the community’s economy.
According to him, the Senator established the Ifeanyi Ubah International Stadium and the Authority Radio Station in Nnewi before entering politics.
Chief Ezekaka went on to describe the Senator as a one-in-a-million humanitarian whose deeds of kindness can be seen in all spheres, including religion. He further stated that the Cathedral Building of the Nnewi Catholic Diocese, which is nearing completion, was initiated by the Senator before he entered politics and is entirely funded by him.

Senator Ubah, according to the Nnewi Sports Club President, is a great force that worked with the state institution to preserve Nnewi, Anambra, and Nigerians in general during COVID-19.
“While the state and citizens were fighting the pandemic, Senator Ubah gathered notable citizens to create ultramodern medical and isolation units at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (Permanent Site), Nnewi, and Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka”.
He went on to remark that the incredible thing about both massive projects is that they were completed in a year and handed over to the management of the aforementioned institutions.
Senator Ubah, who is entirely committed to human capacity building and sports development, tells them that he will never relent in his efforts to promote people’s well-being. He also thanked the club for their unselfish efforts to help Nnewi prosper and informed them that the facility is part of his support for their noble efforts.
