From Wednesday, November 30, 2022, the Kano State Government, through the Kano Road Traffic Agency, will forbid tricycle riders known as “Adaidaita Sahu,” from using some major roads in Kano metropolis.

The KAROTA Public Relations Officer, Nabilusi Na’isa, issued a statement on Tuesday containing the order to news reporters in Kano.

The statement claims that the government took the action after supplying 50 taxis and 100 modern buses, which would transport passengers on roads off-limits to tricycle operators.

“Adaidaita Sahu drivers (tricycle operators) are prohibited from following Ahmadu Bello Way by Mundubawa road to Gazawa and Tal’udu road to Gwarzo,” the statement partly read.

The government stated that it had provided the buses in order to enhance transportation in the state as well as to make it easier for people to follow these routes.

According to the statement, the government will also announce when tricycle operators will stop using other major roads in the state once it provides more ultra-modern buses and taxis to ease traffic congestion in Kano city.
