The Bayelsa State Police Command has announced that celebrity kidnapper John Ewa, also known on social media as John Lyon, will be arraigned on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. (today).
The Bayelsa police force confirmed this in a statement issued by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Asinim Butswat, who also stated that Lyon and his cohort will be arraigned in High Court 6, Yenogoa.
Lyon is well-known on social media for his flashy lifestyle.
Two months ago Nigerians were shocked to hear that the 30-year-old social media celebrity confessed to be involved in two kidnap incidents.
Lyon, who confessed to the crimes while being paraded by the police claimed that his gang members asked him to give them the address of his former boss, Danjuma Omeje, and that few days later, they kidnapped him and collected a ransom of N45 million from him.

He said that after the operation they gave him N1.5 million to take care of the medical bills of his mother who was sick and in the hospital.
Lyon, who is from Akwagom-Eruan Community in Boki LGA of Cross River State, was arrested alongside his gang leader, Emmanuel Angase.
The statement by the police read, “The celebrity kidnapper John Ewa ‘aka’ John Lyon and others will be arraigned in High Court 6, Yenagoa, today 30 November 2022, by 0900 hours.”
