Abubakar Atiku, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, has vowed to defeat his All Progressives Congress (APC) rival, Bola Tinubu, in the 2023 election.

On Wednesday, Atiku made the pledge during the party’s rally in Akure, Ondo state.

The former Vice President expressed confidence that the opposition party will win the presidential election in 2023.

Atiku promised that if elected, his government would provide adequate funding for education, and that Nigerians would never see a replay of the APC’s rule, which he said caused immense hardship.

He decried the state of education in the country, blaming the ruling party in particular for its terrible education strategy. He guaranteed that Nigerian universities would not be closed due to a strike by teachers, as they had been under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta state governor and PDP vice presidential candidate, praised party leaders and the thousands of Ondo youths who attended the event.

He said, “In the past 8 months the youths were at home and that shouldn’t be the case.

“Atiku has made provisions to ensure no university goes on strike as special attention would be placed on the youths of the country as well as set aside funds to support youths who would want to go into entrepreneurship.”

“As long as you vote Atiku, hunger and unemployment will be a thing of the past. Remain focused, go from school to school, house to house and campaign for Atiku,” he said.
