Amb. Dr. Polycarp Gankon, a Labour Party chieftain, has called for the immediate investigation and prosecution of the murderers of Labour Party Women’s Leader Mrs. Victoria Chintex.

He believes the government should take decisive action against anyone or any group of people found to have killed another person in any part of the country.

In a statement he issued, Gankon said, “As a party, we outrightly condemn the gruesome killing of the innocent woman who has over the years contributed immensely to the development and growth of the State. She was indeed a politician of repute and desired positive change in the society.”

He added, “It is our utmost believe that the security agencies, will as a matter of urgency, arrest the culprits and make them face the wrath of the law for short-living the life of a woman whose political experience is needed most especially at this political era for the victory of the party in the State and the country come 2023 and beyond.”

He bemoaned the fact that the deceased’s spouse narrowly avoided the attack and is now left to nursing gunshot wounds acquired during the incident, claiming that it was clearly an assassination directed at the Labour Party Women’s Leader.

The statement also urged the relevant authorities to confront all forms of impunity that fostered various sorts of political crimes and abuses in the country, particularly as electioneering season approaches.

He also urged the Kaduna State government to beef up security across the state’s 23 local government areas.
