Babachir Lawal, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has stated that if the Labour Party’s presidential nominee, Peter Obi, loses the next 2023 presidential election, he and other political heavyweights will relocate to Cameroon.

Lawal said this on Monday in Abuja at an interactive session with Obi and the LP’s stakeholders from the North East.

Lawal, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, expressed surprise that the party had not removed him despite his opposition to APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu.

“We want (Obi) to win this election and must win this election. If we lose this election, we’ll all migrate to Cameroon because of the shame and disgrace of failure to win,” he said.

Given the current status of the country, he believes Obi must win the presidential election next year.
