Mr Jonathan Asake, the Labour Party (LP2023 )’s gubernatorial candidate in Kaduna State, says he is not in the race to undermine the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the All Progressives Congress, APC’s chances in the state.
According to him, “My aspiration to be a governor is not a joke, I am a serious contender for Sir Kashim Ibrahim House and remained highly optimistic to win the election next year.”
Speaking to the political committee panel of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) on Tuesday in Kaduna, he claimed he had what it takes to get the people of the state out of their current condition.
Kaduna LP Candidate Denies Rumours Of Affiliated With APC
The gubernatorial candidate stated that he had heard a bizarre story that he just intended to stop the PDP in order for the APC to win, which he denied.
He asked, “If the PDP truly believed that Southern Senatorial zone is theirs why have they not zoned the party’s governorship ticket to the zone since 1999?”
He explained that now that the LP has zoned the governorship to the southern senatorial zone, the PDP has become nervous and is disseminating misinformation about his candidacy.
Mr Asake remarked that he would not be distracted by such misbehavior, stating that he is focused on winning and that, with God’s help, he will be the next Governor of Kaduna State.
