Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, has charged top campaign operatives to “fight,” “grab,” and “run [away] with” political power.
In a video, Mr Tinubu is seen giving the order to several top party operatives in London. He has remained in the UK after attending a Chatham House event earlier this week.
“Political power is not going to be served in a restaurant. They don’t serve it a la carte. At all cost, fight for it, grab it and run with it,” Mr Tinubu said.

Mr Tinubu has had a stranglehold over the politics of Nigeria’s commercial metropolis since his election as governor of Lagos in 1999.
His supporters see it as proof of his political savvy, while the opposition claims the former governor uses harsh tactics, even visiting violence, to suppress voting in opposition strongholds.
The APC presidential candidate is widely regarded as the front-runner for next year’s elections, but he will face fierce competition from seasoned challenger and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. Former Anambra governor Peter Obi is also promising a strong showing in the election, which some observers believe would be heavily impacted by ethno-religious tensions.
