The start of the sale of 35 cars at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) office in Abuja drew a big crowd on Tuesday.
The exercise followed the final forfeiture order obtained by the anti-graft agency from the courts.
Prospective buyers thronged the EFCC office in the Federal Capital Territory, where the automobiles are exhibited pictorially for prospective buyers to pick from, according to Channels Television.

According to Umma Sulaiman, Deputy Director, Department of Earnings of Crime Management at the EFCC, 35 cars are up for grabs in this auction, and the proceeds will be deposited in a special account of the Federal Government at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Last week, the EFCC hosted a similar auction in Lagos, when over 400 items were auctioned off.
According to a representative for the agency, the auctioning of forfeited assets would take place across all of its commands.
He said that the automobiles are the subject of final forfeiture orders issued by a Lagos court, and that the operation was carried out in accordance with the EFCC (Establishment) Act 2004, the Public Procurement Act 2007, and the Proceeds of Crimes (Recovery and Management) Act 2022.

The auctioned cars can be found in four Lagos locations: 40, Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi, Lagos; 15A Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos; 14 Cameroon Road, Ikoyi, Lagos; and CVU Obalende, Ikoyi, Lagos.
