Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, the premier Igbo socio-cultural organization, has once more demanded an end to the killing of Eha-Amufu locals in Enugu State by alleged Fulani herders.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Eha-Amufu has turned into a battleground, with numerous casualties and damage to property.
Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State just called for another emergency meeting of all the parties from Eha-Amufu on Tuesday, where significant decisions were made.
The National President of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, thanked Governor Ugwuanyi for all of his efforts in finding ways to put an end to the bloodshed in Eha-Amufu in a statement that was made available to Newsmen.
Despite the cooperation from the State Government, the organization said that security authorities were not doing enough to improve the situation in the region.
Despite the fact that the issues are complicated, Okwu remarked that “the Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has done so much to restore peace and serenity in Eha-Amufu.” Okwu claimed to have been closely following the unpleasant happenings in the area.
“Quite frankly, this is not a time to play politics. We are aware of the several interventions by the Governor ever since this unfortunate incident started. These efforts are satisfactory and we wish to thank the Governor for standing by the people,” he stated.

The Ohanaeze youth president, however, urged the Federal Government to call the rampaging Fulani herdsmen to order.
“Within the last few weeks, over 100 persons have been slaughtered in Eha-Amufu and this cuts across all ages.
“We are unhappy as no word has come from the Federal Government as a form of sympathy to those affected. This lends credence to the belief in some quarters that the killers have the backing of the government.
“A time has come for the President Muhammadu Buhari government to convince the entire world that it was not giving tacit support to the killers. They must be stopped from wreaking further havoc forthwith.
“We find it hard to comprehend why the killer herdsmen will want to push our people out of their ancestral land.

“It is even more curious that they launch these attacks from Benue State and return unchallenged. This has to end; the security agencies must show the world that they are not part of what is happening.
“For the umpteenth time, we call on the Federal Government-controlled security agencies to disarm the AK-47 wielding Fulani herdsmen who are slaughtering our people,” he declared.
