Bishop Yahaya called for the reform of the Nigerian Police Force through the establishment of state and local government police in order to ensure that there are more people on the ground to secure all ungoverned spaces while bemoaning the rising level of insecurity in the nation.

Additionally, he claimed that some military bag eggs who are profiting from the current security issues are undermining government efforts to put an end to the attacks and killings.

Bishop Yahaya cautioned politicians to follow the rules and avoid actions that could compromise the 2023 general elections. He also encouraged the Central Bank of Nigeria to use caution when implementing the cashless policy, adding that Nigeria is not yet ripe to implement such policy holistically.

On his part, Most Reverend Mathew Ndagoso, the Catholic Archbishop of the Kaduna Archdiocese, urged the federal government and the Independent National Electoral Commission to foster an environment that will enable all citizens to participate in the 2023 elections and to make sure the process is free, fair, and credible.

The country can no longer be left in the hands of mediocre people, Bishop Ndagoso insisted, urging voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and make sure they only cast their ballots for candidates who have integrity and the potential to positively improve the nation.
