Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, engaged Canadian-based Nigerians in an interactive town hall meeting.
The conference had as its theme “Positive impact of the Diaspora on the growth and development of Nigeria” and was held on Sunday at the Hilton Toronto Airport Hotel and Suites in Mississauga, Ontario.
Obi stressed that Nigerians must save the nation and put an end to poor governance in a series of tweets published on his Twitter feed on Monday.

The former governor of Anambra State proclaimed that shifting the nation from consumption to production is the main goal of his presidency.
The Peter Obi Nigerian Canadian Interest Groups and the local organizing committee, however, received praise from Obi for organizing the event.
He wrote: “It feels good to be in Toronto, Canada. I am very grateful to the Peter Obi Nigerian Canadian Interest Groups, and the local organising committee that put this event together.

“We will aggressively pursue human capital development in the education and health sectors with available resources while striving to adopt best global practices.
