WWIII: ‘It’s Dangerous To Underestimate Russia,’ – NATO Warns

Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), has cautioned the United States and its allies not to underestimate Russia in the current conflict with Ukraine.

According to Reuters, Stoltenberg announced this on Thursday during a business conference in Oslo, the capital of Norway.

In light of the conflict in Ukraine, he warned against underestimating Russian President Vladimir Putin’s intentions.

“They have shown a great willingness to tolerate losses and suffering,” Stoltenberg said.

“We have no indication that President Putin has changed his plans and goals in Ukraine. So it’s dangerous to underestimate Russia.”

On February 24, Russia invaded Ukraine, claiming that its goal was to “demilitarize and denazify” the country, according to Putin.

Putin has threatened to deploy nuclear weapons, endangering global security and peace if the West supports Ukraine in the conflict.

6,919 civilian deaths have been confirmed by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) since the war started.
