President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that he will use the four months he has left in office to be firm in his leadership so that he can step down in peace.

During a speech in Hashimi II El-palace Kanemi’s in Damaturu on Monday, he made the commitment.

In his remarks on security, Buhari urged Nigerians to grow in trust in their nation, particularly in its institutions, and to stop permitting terrorist organizations to destabilize Nigeria once more.

‘‘With the four months I have left as President, I’ll continue to be steadfast and I hope that I will retire in peace,” he stated.

The president also stated that Boko Haram-displaced youngsters in particular need to have their right to an education protected by the government.

He said, ‘‘We have gone through so much as a country but I will appeal to you all to maintain steadfastness and making sure that we will not allow anybody to disorganize us again”.

However, the most populous person expressed happiness with the restoration of peace in Yobe State in Northeast Nigeria.

He credited the creativity of Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni and his counterpart from Borno State, Prof. Babagana Zulum, for the current state of calm.

According to Buhari, both leaders have been tenacious in rebuilding the educational facilities, medical facilities, and other institutions that the terrorists’ misguided attacks damaged.

Recall that Buhari has recently expressed his desire to retire from the presidency and live distant from Abuja, which serves as the capital of Nigeria.

Additionally, he had said that he would return to his native state of Katsina, which borders the Republic of Chad.
