Yoruba Nation Rally: Calm Restored At Ojota After Monday Unrest

After reported unrest involving alleged agitators of the Yoruba Nation early on Monday, normalcy has apparently been restored in the Lagos State neighborhood of Ojota.

Social media videos purport to show an unnamed individual being slain during the violence as protesters and police allegedly battled where the protesters gathered for a large gathering.

When our correspondent reached the scene of the event, he saw that things were back to normal, with people driving and doing business as usual.

Pandemonium In Ojota As Yoruba Nation Agitators Rally In Lagos

Near the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, armed police officers and vehicles were also seen.

Jubril Gawat, an aide to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, provided an update on the issue and said everything was peaceful at Ojota.

He wrote, “UPDATE: Ojota is calm. OP-MESA and other Police Divisions are fully on ground. People are going about their normal duties, all clear.”
