NBC’s ratings for the 2023 edition of the annual Golden Globes awards show were the lowest ever achieved despite having over 6.3 million viewers.

The 80th anniversary of the competition took place on January 10 and featured many unforgettable moments, including historic victories for Angela Bassett and “Abbott Elementary,” among others.

The 2023 version of the award ceremony debuted this week without the anticipated resounding success after being taken off the air in 2022 due to controversy.
ThatGrapeJuice, an entertainment website, reports that despite drawing 6.3 million viewers, “Globes” closed the night as the second most watched programme in the ratings, trailing CBS’ popular “FBI” series (which garnered an audience of 7.4 million).

Marking the lowest number of views ever for the ceremony, the sum represents only a third of the size of 2020’s 18.3 million ‘Globes’ viewers.

While it’s fair to mention the numbers listed above don’t include any reports from Peacock or other digital platforms where the show aired, the uptick those entities account for will likely not make a substantial difference in final viewership figures.
