Former vice chancellor Professor Ibrahim Garba and bursar Ibrahim Usman of Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Kaduna State, have been charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission with eight offences involving theft and N1 billion in money laundering.
This was announced by the anti-graft commission on its Twitter account on Thursday.
The two were charged by the EFCC’s Kaduna Zonal Command and appeared before Justice A.A. Bello of the Kaduna State High Court.

The arraignment, according to the commission, came after months of covert investigation after a petition accused Garba and Usman of transferring funds intended for the famous Kongo Conference Hotel’s refurbishment from multiple institutional accounts into their personal accounts.
