After it was revealed that Big Brother Titans would begin on Sunday and potentially have an impact on young people’s participation in the presidential election, reactions persisted.

Big Brother Titans, the largest iteration of Africa’s most popular reality show franchise, will feature housemates from various regions of South Africa and Nigeria. It is hosted by Lawrence Maleka of BBMzanzi and Ebuka-Obi Uchendu of Big Brother.

$100,000 cash will be awarded as the show’s ultimate prize, which should keep spectators riveted to their screens.

BBTitans: Nigerians Raise Concern Over Tv Show Return Ahead of Elections

The show’s producers said that this year’s edition is a combination of the TV sensations BBNaija and BB Mzansi. According to Multichoice, the purpose of bringing the housemates together under one roof is to provide African entertainment consumers with a brand-new level of dramatic drama.

A lot of Nigerian and South African swag, banter, romance, and everything in between are promised in the show, which will be webcast in the UK, Ireland, and 45 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.

However, some Nigerians have denounced the new reality program, claiming it was a distraction for the country’s youths as the tantalizing 2023 national elections get near.

The labor party, which is largely supported by young people, has claimed that the goal of the new reality show is to prevent young people in Nigeria from voting on election day.

However, Nigerian singer/songwriter Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, better known by his stage name Charly Boy, asked the youths to pay closer attention to what bothered them in an interview with Newsmen.

Charlyboy in reaction to the criticism raised by concerned Nigerians said, ”I expect young people to face what is facing them. Big Brother is not what is doing us.”

”They should just concentrate on what is facing them, when they finish their voting they can face Big Brother. Voting should be everybody’s reality not Big Brother.” he added.

In the meantime, Charlyboy suggested that the former governor of Anambra State be sued for willfully putting his life in danger in response to a viral video showing Labour Party candidate Peter Obi having trouble leaving the Enugu rally venue.

In a popular video from Enugu state on Thursday, the co-pilot shielded Peter Obi from an unruly throng.
