Bola Tinubu, an All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential contender, has bolstered his media office by hiring two new assistants.

The Tinubu Media Office’s Head, Mr. Tunde Rahman, made this announcement in a statement issued on Sunday.

Mahmud Jega and Abdulaziz Abdulaziz have been named as special advisers on public affairs and media, respectively.

Before being hired, recognized editor Jega worked as an inside analyst for Arise TV and published a weekly piece in Thisday.

He served as the Chief Editor of the 21st Century Chronicle, an online journal.

Abdulaziz, a social media influencer and award-winning journalist, has been named the deputy general editor of Daily Trust Newspapers.

For Trust TV, a division of the Media Trust Group, he also served as the morning show host.

In a statement released over the weekend by the Tinubu Media Office and signed by Mr. Tunde Rahman, it was stated that the two new hires will use their knowledge of political issues, particularly those in the North, to strengthen the work of the media team.

Jega has been a journalist for more than three decades after serving as a lecturer in biological sciences at his alma school, the Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto.

He served Daily Trust Newspapers as managing editor, editor, deputy editor-in-chief, and chairman of the editorial board for a total of 13 years. Before then, he held the positions of editor for New Nigerian Newspapers, editor for The Sentinel magazine in Kaduna, and assistant editor for Citizen.

Abdulaziz has experience in broadcast, web, print, and social media.

Before joining Blueprint Newspaper, which he left in 2017 as Deputy Editor, he had worked for the LEADERSHIP Newspapers as a Correspondent, Bureau Chief, and Regional Editor.

Before beginning his employment with Daily Trust at the start of 2021, Abdulaziz served as an Associate Editor for the leading online publication PREMIUM TIMES.
