2023: My Government Will Prioritise Restructuring – Atiku In Oyo

Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, has stated that the restructuring that the people of the South West region have been clamoring for will be accomplished during his government.

Atiku made the statement while speaking to thousands of supporters gathered at Mapo Hall in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Thursday.

PDP National Chairman Iyorcha Ayu, his predecessor, Prince Uche Secondus, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State and his counterpart from Balyesa, Douye Diri, former governors of Kogi and Osun states, Idris Wada and Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, respectively, and Mrs Titi Abubakar Atiku were among those present at the PDP campaign in the state.

Others are Senator Dino Melaye, former Vice President Namadi Sambo, former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, Hon. Ndidi Elumelu, Abdul Ningi, former governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna, former governor of Cross River, Lyel Imoke, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, Senator Philip Aduda, Chief Jumoke Akinjide, Chief Wole Oyelese and Hazeem Gbolarumi.

While addressing the people during the PDP campaign in the state, the former vice president promised that the country’s long-desired restructuring will be accomplished when he takes office in May of this year.

Atiku claimed that the current federal administration has failed to restructure the country, despite the fact that the people of the region have been clamoring for it over the years.

He informed the crowd that the reorganization he plans to implement will give states and local governments more control.

“I will restructure Nigeria. Restructuring of the country will be achieved during my time. By restructuring, we mean giving more powers and autonomy to the states and local government areas.

“It will be one of the pillars of my government.

“Vote for PDP so that together, we can match to progress,” he said.
