Mr Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the next elections, has pledged to battle insecurity and reopen the country’s borders if elected.
Speaking in Katsina State on Monday as part of his presidential campaign, the Labour Party presidential candidate said that weak governance and insecurity have resulted in great misery and abject poverty among Nigerians.
According to him, “I will build a new Nigeria for all, and boost the socio-economic activities of Katsina State and the nation in general.”
Peter Obi added that he and his running companion, Datti Baba Ahmed, have opted to construct a new Nigeria where security comes first, promising that with security comes the opening of borders for greater business.
He believes that in order to combat poverty, security must be restored and borders opened.
Obi pleaded with Nigerians to vote for the Labour Party in order to achieve the country’s total restoration.
