Hundreds of Osun people demonstrated peacefully on Friday against the Election Petition Tribunal’s decision to dismiss Governor Ademola Adeleke and replace him with Gboyega Oyetola.
According to media reports, the tribunal verdict was issued on Friday by a three-member panel led by Justice Tertse Kume.
The majority decision of two judges against one directed that Adeleke’s Certificate of Return be removed and issued to Adegboyega Oyetola.

According to the majority ruling read by the Chairman, Justice Tertse Kume, Oyetola received the majority of legitimate votes (314,931) against Adeleke’s 219,666.
Adeleke was fired by the tribunal for overvoting in various polling units across the state.
A social media video showed the moment locals swarmed the streets to protest the ruling, professing their support for the sitting governor.
