The National Youth Service Corps’ new director general, Yushau Dogara, has been urged to take action against a group that issuing phoney NYSC certificates to members of the public by the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria.

The group claimed on Thursday that it believed a syndicate was involved in the scam and that it felt the syndicate’s role in the scheme was to entice and deceive the public, especially those running for political office.

HURIWA stressed that the members of the syndicate might also be participants in the scheme when he indicated that the certificates being provided are designated as “Oluwole NYSC certifications.”

“We will be writing to the new Director General of the NYSC to task him to set up an independent panel of investigators to uncover the members of this syndicate,” the rights advocacy group said in the press conference as quoted by Daily Post.
