Video: Enugu Residents Chase Chimaroke Nnamani’s Convoy With ‘Thief’ Chants

Some angry Enugu youths drove off former Enugu State Governor Chimaroke Nnamani’s motorcade on Saturday in Enugu.

According to news sources, citizens of Enugu State turned out in force and chased away a convoy led by the former Enugu governor, who had come to the city to collect votes ahead of the next elections.

In the video, the mob can be heard saying in Igbo, ‘Chimaroke Nnamani Onye Ori,’ which translates to ‘Chimaroke the Thief.’

According to news reports, Nnamani and others were dismissed from the party on Friday after being suspected of anti-party activity.

Their expulsion was announced by the party’s spokesperson, Debo Ologunagba, after the conclusion of the PDP NWC 566th meeting on Friday.

Ologunagba stated that the party accepted their expulsion from the PDP due to anti-party activities and other serious violations of the PDP’s constitution (as amended in 2017).

Hon. Chris Ogbu (Imo State), Ajijola Lateef Oladimeji (Ekiti Central), Olayinka James Olalere (Ekiti Central II), Fayose Oluwajomiloju John (Ekiti Central I), Akerele Oluyinka (Ekiti North I), and Emiola Adenike Jennifer Were all expelled from the party (Ekiti South II).
