Nigerian artist Peter Okoye of the P-Square music group has reacted to reports that Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike persuaded Labour Party (LP) followers to vote for All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu.

Other teenagers said in a viral video uploaded on his Twitter Page that they were completely obedient until Wike urged them to work for Tinubu.

During a recent appearance on Arise TV, a spokesman for the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign council, Daniel Bwala, stated Wike was also one of the reasons Peter Obi deserted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Labour Party, soon before the primary elections.

According to him, the party’s original talks leaned toward zoning the presidential ticket to the South, but were foiled when Wike refused to allow the South East to have it, and the party’s leadership decided to offer it up to both Northern and Southern hopefuls.

As a result, Obi opted to abandon the main opposition party in favor of the LP, where he emerged as the presidential candidate to face Atiku Abubakar and Bola Tinubu.

In response to the video, Peter Okoye, a staunch Obi supporter, cautioned Rivers State residents to be wary of individuals persuading them to vote against the former Anambra State governor.

He went on to say that the best way to disappoint the opposition party is for them to go to the polling station and vote for Peter Obi.

He wrote: “My dear Rivers State/Portharcourt people! These are your enemies at work! Watch carefully, they said they are doing it for their own selfish interests! The only way you can disappoint these people here is by taking your anger to the polling unit and voting for @PeterObi of LP.”
