Bashir Ahmad, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Assistant on Digital Media, has reacted to the arrest in Finland of a self-proclaimed disciple of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the jailed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The International Criminal Police Organization’s (Interpol) arrest of Ekpa hit the internet on Thursday, according to report.

Since then, there has been a flood of replies on and off social media. Worried citizens expressed hope that the arrest of the Biafra agitator would provide some comfort to the Southeast before, during, and after the 2023 general elections.

A former presidential aspirant and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Adamu Garba, has also reacted to Ekpa’s arrest.

Garba asks that Ekpa, whom he calls a terrorist, be deported to Nigeria, like his leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and face the wrath of the country’s law.

“The next thing to do after terrorist Simon Ekpa’s arrest is to repatriate him to Nigeria so that he can face our local laws,” Garba wrote on the microblogging platform.
