Monday Idoko, the Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ohofia Agba Ward in Ebonyi State’s Ishielu Local Government Area, has been reported dead.

According to news sources, unknown assailants shot Idoko in the head in his Onueke village in the state’s Ezza South Council around 11 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to the information acquired, the armed guys entered the community and pulled him out while he was sleeping before killing him in the head.

A relative who confided in Newsmen disclosed that “My brother the story is very traumatic. It was a family member that alerted me that some unknown armed persons came to their house just before midnight, broke in and dragged him out before shooting him in the head.

“We wanted to rush him to the hospital but he died in the village. We have been in a mourning mood since last night.”

Another party chieftain who lives in the same area verified the occurrence, claiming the victim was preparing for a rescheduled visit to the region by the APGA governorship candidate, Prof Benard Odoh, before to the tragedy.

According to an APGA supporter who requested anonymity, it is regrettable that Idoko’s life was cut short by the underworld, given he was a committed member of the party.
