The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, has claimed that the Rivers State presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday were rigged.
The coalition said in a statement issued on Sunday by its President General, Goodluck Ibem, that some political figures in the state tampered with the election results.
COSEYL said that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, coerced some of its officials to modify the original results in several polling units.

According to Ibem, the Labour Party won in several areas, but the elections were rigged in favor of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The coalition has promised to stage massive rallies in Rivers to guarantee that the proper results are achieved.
“It is very clear that they lost woefully to the Labour Party, LP, Presidential Candidate in Rivers State and some politicians with their thugs shamelessly resorted to beating an innocent INEC staff forcing them to alter the will of the people. Such frivolous acts will not stand.
“We will embark on a 2 million man March protest in Rivers State to ensure that the will of the people is not tampered with by anti-democratic forces who are hell-bent to truncate our move to a new Nigeria”, the statement added.
