Ifeanyi Ubah Wins Anambra South Senatorial Election, Victor Umeh, Nwoye Joins Train

Senator Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) has been proclaimed the victor of the Anambra South senatorial district election held on Saturday, February 25 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The YPP candidate received 73,115 votes, while his nearest challenger, Hon. Chris Emeka Azubogu of APGA, received 45,369 votes, and the LP and PDP received 28,102 and 21,209 votes, respectively.

In another yet-to-be-announced outcome, Senator Victor Umeh of the Labour Party is already celebrating after defeating the incumbent, Senator Uche Ekwunife of the People’s Democratic Party, in the Anambra Central Senatorial election.

In addition, LP contender Hon. Tony Nwoye is said to have defeated incumbent Senator Stella Oduah in the Anambra North senatorial zone election.

Both candidates are said to have won because of the Labour Party’s massive popularity as a result of the Peter Obi factor.

Because to Mr Peter Obi’s popularity in the state, many candidates for the House of Representatives were elected on the Labour Party platform.
