In Delta State, an Independent Electoral Commission employee was reportedly shot dead, while several corps members were injured.
Mr. Monday Tom, Delta State’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, verified this to journalists on Monday, just after the results of Ukwani Local Government Area were announced.
“There were cases of violence in Ukwani Local Government Area where one of us perished on their way back from the election,” he claimed.

The gunmen opened fire on their bus, killing one and injuring many members of the corps.
“The corpers are now receiving treatment but we are planning how to move the corps members who were injured to a hospital in Asaba”
Meanwhile, 14 local governments have so far been officially announced by the INEC with LP winning in 10 while the PDP won in four.
