Ishaku Loses Taraba South Senatorial Seat To Jimkuta Of APC

Darius Ishaku, the governor of Taraba State, has lost the election for the Taraba South senatorial district to All Progressives Congress candidate David Jimkuta.

The INEC returning officer for the election, Prof. Solomon Adeyeye, declared the results of the election on Monday in Wukari, saying Jimkuta received 85,415 votes to defeat Governor Darius of the PDP, who received 45,708 votes.
“By the powers vested in me as returning officer, I hereby announce and declare David Jimkuta the winner of the recently concluded Taraba South Senatorial district election,” the returning officer stated.

Jimkuta expressed gratitude to the teeming youths and security agencies for ensuring the necessary peaceful environment for the successful conduct of the elections.
