Comr Festus Otesiri Igherebuo, Delta state governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s special assistant for youth development, was one of the victims of the intermittent attacks across the state during Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections.
During Saturday’s election, the Delta state governor’s aide was allegedly attacked and injured by political thugs in Warri.
The governor’s aide was sent to the hospital for treatment due to the intensity of the attack.
According to Newsmen, the governor’s aide is quickly healing.

Comr Festus Otesiri Igherebuo, Delta state governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s special assistant for youth development, in a hospital in Warri.
The political aide, who was the Urhobo Youth Council’s immediate past president and the Okere-Urhobo Development Movement’s youth president, said in a statement that the attack was carried out by members of the All Progressives Congress and the Labour Party.
He said, “I was there lawfully trying to ensure voting is done properly and orderly but was misunderstood.
“Is it a crime to ask that fellow electorate maintain orderliness in an election? Political opponents I know, some of the Labour Party and others of the All Progressives Congress pounced on me and landed me in the hospital. It took the grace of God that I’m alive today.”

Igherebo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secretary for Warri South Local Government Area, was defeated in Unit 8 Okumagba 1 Ward 11, where he had cast his ballot on Saturday.
