The All Progressives Congress, APC, and its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, have filed a lawsuit regarding the declaration of election results on Saturday.

The strike came after the Labour Party, LP, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, demanded that Prof Mahmood Yakubu halt his strike.

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is presiding over the announcement of state election results.

The APC and Tinubu complaint, FHC/KN/CS/43/2023, was filed in Kano before the Federal High Court.

The defendants were joined by the Action Alliance and INEC, with APC vice presidential candidate Kashim Shettima identified as a plaintiff.

According to news sources, the plaintiffs urged the court to make the order restraining the defendants in a motion on notice submitted alongside the originating summons.

“Damages will not adequately compensate for the injury that may be occasioned on the Plaintiffs if by the Defendants stop the collation of the result,” the suit reads.

Tinubu leads the results chart, followed by Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, Peter Obi of the LP, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP.
