Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has denied meeting with All Progressive Congress (APC) President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Imo State Government House in Owerri.

The Governor indicated that no meeting was conducted to discuss ways to prevent Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi from going to court to protest the results of last Saturday’s presidential election.

Remember that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) proclaimed Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor, the poll winner with 8,794,726 votes, followed by Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party with 6.96 million votes and Peter Obi of the Labour Party with 6.1 million votes.

According to the sources, Tinubu expressed concern over Peter Obi’s growing popularity and sought the assistance of Soludo to find a solution.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo stated that the reports of such a meeting were incorrect and disgusting.

The governor stated that he has been in Anambra State meeting with stakeholders in preparation for the upcoming House of Assembly election on Saturday.

The claims, according to Soludo, are a plan to create disruption during the upcoming State Assembly election in the South East geopolitical zone.

He urged the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, to launch a probe into the claimed complaint as soon as possible in order to identify those responsible.
