Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has stated that he will never join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Fayose made the remarks while appearing live on TVC’s ‘Your View’ on Tuesday (today).

Fayose stated that he is convinced that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, will win the 2023 election.

According to him, his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was prepared to fail in the 2023 election after enabling important stakeholders in the party to vote with large numbers of supporters.

Fayose mentioned Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), both of whom defected from the PDP months before the 2023 elections.

According to news reports, Tinubu was congratulated by the former governor after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) pronounced him president-elect last week.

When asked why he thanked Tinubu during the interview today, Fayose stated the APC candidate won the election and he had nothing against him.

He did, however, clarify that his congratulatory letter does not imply that he wishes to join the APC.
In contrast to the opposition parties’ claims, Fayose asserted that the presidential election on February 25th was free, fair, and credible.
