Senator-elect Adams Oshiomhole of Edo North has stated that the 10th Senate will not be a runner stamp for President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu upon its inauguration.

The former Edo governor made the pledge during the handing of certificates of return to Senators-elect on Tuesday in Abuja.

Tinubu, according to Oshiohole, is looking forward to a Senate that would contribute to the country’s progress.

He vowed that the Senate will legislate in such a way that Nigerians would get good value for their money.

“We are not there for the allowance. Even the president-elect will not look forward to a rubber stamp assembly but the one that can help to contribute to knowledge.”

The former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, stated that the new Senate would focus on economic growth, GDP growth, and power reforms.

Oshiomhole went on to say that the government must muster the fortitude to deal with a system that requires citizens to pay bills for power they did not use.
