Imo Sunday, 29, was given a four-month prison term on Tuesday by an Upper Area Court in Karu, Abuja, for stealing a N43,000 mobile Phone.

After pleading guilty to the theft charge and pleading for mercy, the judge, Hassan Mohammed, handed down the punishment on Sunday.

Nonetheless, the judge offered the convicted party the chance to pay a N10,000 fine.

Additionally, Mohammed ruled that the convict must give the nominal complainant N43,000 in restitution.

Osho said on Jan. 26, while the nominal complainant was under Nyanya bridge sharing questionnaire, the convict conspired with one other person, now at large, to defraud him.

He said Sunday who claimed to be a prophet of God criminally deceived him and collected his Infinix phone valued at N43, 000, and disappeared with his accomplice.
The prosecutor said during a police investigation, the convict was sighted at a location and arrested.

Osho also told the court that Sunday had confessed to the offence which contravened Section 97 and 322 of the Penal Code.
