Graduate Dispatch Rider Dies In An Accident In Benin

Freedom Ogbeide, a dispatch rider who graduated from the University of Benin, was killed in an accident on Tuesday, March 16, at NITEL Junction in Ugbowo, Benin, Edo State.
According to a friend who confirmed his death, the collision involved the rider, a car, and a truck. He stated that the deceased began working after graduating from UNIBEN’s Department of Animal Science in 2021.

“The deceased was my class representative till we graduated from UNIBEN in 2021,” he explained. He was a hard worker and a decent leader who looked out for the interests of others.

“The deceased still had both parents. We, his former classmates, are already in contact with his brother to know how to pay a condolence visit to the family. His corpse has been deposited at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital’s mortuary.”
An eyewitness who corroborated the claim, told the publication that the truck crushed the dispatch rider to death immediately after a car rammed into him while on his way to a destination in the state.

He said;
“He was crushed by a truck after his bike was hit by a car. He tried to get up but he couldn’t because of the impact of the fall.”

The Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps, Paul Okpe, also confirmed the incident.
