INEC Makes Fresh Announcement Hours To 2023 Guber Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has denied a widespread rumour that it will hold supplementary polls for presidential and national assembly elections concurrently with this weekend’s civic exercises.

The electoral commission stated in a statement issued on Friday that it has not given any instruction in this regard and would announce the exact date for the supplemental polls following this weekend’s gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections.

“The Commission has not scheduled the conduct of supplementary elections arising from the Presidential and National Assembly elections. For clarity, the supplementary elections will take place on a date to be announced,” INEC noted.
