The Lagos State Police Command has replied to threats made by the chairman of the Lagos State Parks Management Committee, Musiliu Akinsanya, alias MC Oluomo, ahead of the gubernatorial election against Igbo.

On Friday, Lagos Commissioner of Police Idowu Owohunwa responded on Arise Television’s Newsday program.

In viral videos, MC Oluomo threatened Igbo in Lagos who would not vote for his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, to stay at home during tomorrow’s governorship election.

“We have begged them. If they don’t want to vote for us, it is not a fight. Tell them, mama Chukwudi, if you don’t want to vote for us, sit down at home,” he said.

Owohunwa in his reaction said the video clips are being reviewed and the threats are subjects of ongoing investigation.

He said: “Yes, I can confirm that all the video clips are being reviewed. The statement, the assertions, the threats are subjects of ongoing investigation. And as we proceed, if facts are established against the provision of the law, nobody is above the law in this country. Our existence is regulated by law and we are bound together by law. The political process is regulated by law and nobody can be above that. So if these allegations are established, you can be sure that appropriate criminal and legal proceedings will be initiated against the specific actors.”
