Melaye, Anyanwu Screened By PDP For Kogi, Imo Guber Elections (Photos)

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has begun vetting candidates for the governorship elections in Imo and Kogi.

According to news reports, the screening for governorship candidates took place on Saturday at several locations ahead of the November 11 elections.

Dino Melaye, a former legislator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, was screened and cleared for the election by the PDP Governorship Screening Committee for Kogi State.

In addition, the PDP screening committee examined and cleared the party’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, for the Imo governorship contest.

The Bayelsa State PDP Governorship Screening Committee has screened and cleared Senator Douye Diri for the state’s governorship election on November 11.

Diri was the party’s sole candidate who chose the PDP nomination and expression of interest forms for the November gubernatorial election.

Comrade Philip Shaibu, chairman of the screening committee and Edo State deputy governor, stated that the panel examined Diri in accordance with the party’s guidelines and the election law.

Shaibu stated after the screening session at the PDP headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday that the Bayelsa governor met all of the party’s qualifications for the election.
