Muslim Women Group Cries Out Over Divorce Rate Among Couples In Northern Nigeria

Sisters of Jannah, a Muslim women’s organization, has expressed worry over the high prevalence of divorce among Muslim marriages in Northern Nigeria.

The observation was made by the association during its Ramadan lecture on Wednesday.

The guest lecturer, Malama Khadija Ahmed, stated that most parents ignore the directives of the Holy Quran when marrying their children, resulting in divorce for many couples.

She warned couples to avoid selfishness, egocentricity, autocracy, and obstinacy. To promote marriage success, she urged tolerance, forgiving, and resolving conflicts with reason, fairness, and affection.

Tolerance and forgiveness, according to Malam Muhammad Suhailu Lawal, exhibit the moral ideals and virtues inherent in Allah worship, instructing neighbors to be kind, helpful, and offer gift to their neighbours.

The patron of the society, Hajiya Maryam Garba Bagel, counseled couples to be fair and just in order to make a decent marital house.
