Edwin Clark Demands For Prosecution of Lai Mohammed For Comments Against Peter Obi

Elder statesman Edwin Clark has urged for the prosecution of Minister of Communication and Culture Lai Mohammed for making a treasonous remark about Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.

Clark accused Mohammed of circulating false information about Obi.

According to the Leader of the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum, Mohammed’s recent journey to the United States, during which he accused Obi of treason, is “an exercise in futility.”

In a statement titled, “Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information should be prosecuted for spreading fake news against the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi,” Clark wondered why Mohammed “took more than usual interest in not only lying against Obi,” adding that Obi’s “rising profile” cannot be damaged by the Nigerian government.

Following the triumph of President-elect Bola Tinubu, the minister accused Obi of treason.

Mohammed made the assertion during a media appearance in Washington, DC.

He said that Obi and his running companion, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, made inflammatory remarks after the presidential election results were announced.

Lai Mohammed called the remarks treasonous.
