The All Progressives Congress (APC) has requested that the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT) reject the action filed by three parties challenging the election victory of its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, on February 25.
According to news reports, Tinubu’s victory was contested before the tribunal by the Action Peoples Party (APP), the Action Alliance (AA), and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in separate applications.
However, the APC legal team responded to the appeal from the three parties on Sunday night.
Thomas Ojo, a member of the party’s legal team, filed the answer.

In the case, AA sued the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Hamza Al-Mustapha, the APC’s factional presidential candidate and former CSO to late General Sani Abacha.
Tinubu, Kashim Shettima, INEC, the APC, and Kabir Masari, who served as a vice-presidential placeholder during the primaries until being replaced by Shettima, all signed the petition.
As respondents, APP named INEC, APC, and Tinubu.
In the suits, CA/PEPC/01/2023, CA/PEPC/04/2023, and CA/PEPC/02/2023, AA, APM, and APP, respectively, challenge the presidential election result on the grounds of alleged substantial non-compliance with Nigerian electoral laws and INEC guidelines.
In response, the APC criticized the political parties’ claims and asked the tribunal to dismiss them.
