The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied claims that Adamu Abdullahi, the party’s national chairman, is undergoing medical care abroad.
According to certain internet blogs, according to news reports, Adamu has not yet arrived home after being transported abroad for an unidentified sickness.
The platform stated that Senator Abubakar Kyari, the North’s APC National Deputy Chairman, had been temporarily appointed to take Adamu’s post.

But the APC National Vice Chairman for the South East, Dr. Ijeoma Arodiogbu, and the party’s Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim, quickly refuted the illness story.
Speaking to The PUNCH, Arodiogbu dismissed the claim as a fiction of the imagination of those peddling the idea.
He said that the APC National Chairman traveled to China for business while planning to perform the Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
“He wasn’t sick. He travelled out for business. The national chairman went to China. Of course, I was with him when he met with the Chinese ambassador before he travelled. He went to China, from where he left for Saudi Arabia for Hajj.
“As we speak, he is in London and may not return until next week. He is well and was not rushed abroad for treatment. It is also not true that the APC national chairman resigned,” Arodiogbu said.

But he added that Kyari’s election as acting national chairman was consistent with the party’s charter.
According to Arodiogbu, the APC’s constitution states that when the current chairman is ill or abroad, the chairman in charge of his geographic zone automatically assumes control.
Bala Ibrahim added that the National Chairman of the party was healthy.
Ibrahim claimed that Adamu Abdullahi traveled to China, perhaps for a business deal.
He claimed that the party’s Constitution supported the choice to nominate Kyari as the acting national head.
The PUNCH was also informed by a source at the APC national secretariat that Adamu may have accompanied some Chinese businesspeople on a mining prospect.
The source said, “You know he was into mining, and until he travelled, we have seen some Chinese paying him some visits some weeks before to discuss this mining thing.
